tell us what you're going to be doing next year.
Since you're already booked up for 2010, can you tell us what your plans are for 2011 and how we might be able to bring you to our town?

At the moment Sue is still working on what projects she will be undertaking in 2011. Once plans are finalized, they will be published online.

do a video showing what machines you use personally.
I'd like to know what machines you use personally when you're sewing in your "free" time. Which one(s) do you use most frequently and why?

explain what can be done on the Designer Diamond that can't be done on other machines.
I would like to know what the Designer Diamond can do that previous models cannot or cannot do as easily.

show faster ways to produce full sized quilts.
I like baby quilts but I'd like to make a full sized quilt - Queen size actually - to use on my bed. Can you show some techniques to speed up the cutting and construction process?

Dona,
It really depends on exactly how your portrait is digitized and the effect you’re trying to accomplish.
Some people want a monotone/sepiatone appearance, some want it to appear natural.
I’d start with some basic shading instruction like this one on Practical Thread Magic:
http://practicalthreadmagic.blogspot.com/2010/07/color-theory-for-thread-basic-shading.htmlThe real question is how many colors will your portrait have in it? If it’s a simple one-color conversion, the thread color will depend more on the color of the fabric used.
If you have the patience to digitize (or pay someone else to digitize) the photo to be true-to-life and multi-colored, then the choice will be driven by the skintones of the subjects in the original photo.

A new Circular Attachement
Hi, Sue!
I was at the Edutainment event at Sew Right, In Queens, NY yesterday and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the session. I think you and Herb must be exhausted by the end of the day. I know I was, but I was also excited by the things I saw and learned. It must be gratifying to be able to expound on a subject that is so near and dear to your heart. You really seem to enjoy your job and I as a part of your audience really enjoyed you. Thanks for all you… more

It’s on Sue’s to-do list along with simple videos (think Flipcam). Probably won’t happen in 2010 due to her travel schedule but it is something she’s wanted to do more of when she gets time.

provide a list of the designs you used in the items you display in your seminars
I attended your seminar in Cobleskill NY in Oct 2011. You showed a denim jacket with an embrodiered back - can you tell me the name of the design and where I can buy it? I haven't been able to find it. Thanks! I enjoyed your seminar very much! Laurie

new location
I entered Sew Fun Fabrics in Folsom CA as a suggested site for where's sue, but when we try to vote, it doesn't show up. Does this take a few days to get set once it is suggested? When can we expect to be able to vote?

We want more Herb with animals!
I wish that Herb could have a section where he explains more about his "embroider" work. I watched a show "birds/jacket" and just loved it. How does he pick his animal pictures?

Karin,
Sue periodically follows up on invitations based on where she is planning to be – bundling visits geographically. Right now she is focused on family and working on the things needed to head west as she posted in Feb. Keep an eye on the homepage for more info as we get closer to the middle of the year.
